FOTD with DiorSkin Forever & Stila In the Light

Hi ladies-

Hope your Wednesday was a good one.

I tried a sample today of Dior's DiorSkin Forever Foundation and after one day can say I think I'm falling in love!

I was matched to the shade 031 and am very pleased with how well it works with my NW25-NC30 skin. They don't offer a huge shade range (maybe 8 or 9?) so I can see that may be an issue for some skin tones.

I stippled it on with a rounded kabuki, and was amazed not only with the beautiful, buildable coverage, but how amazingly this seemed to minimize my pores (used in conjunction with MAC Prep & Prime SPF50+ and Covergirl & Olay Pressed Powder- more experimentation required!). Amazingly. My skin looks even, flawless, healthy and beautiful and I am not often saying that mid-afternoon believe me!

Today I feel like I have what I refer to as "air stewardess skin"- they always look so flawless, hydrated and amazing. This foundation finish is definitely not matte and it's definitely not dewy- it just a really healthy satin finish and it's amazing. After a lunchtime touch-up (blot and powder), it's still going strong after 8 hours of wear.

At $AU77 from Myer though, it'd better be bloody impressive!!

I've also heard wonderful things about the coordinating powder- have you tried it?

What do you look for in a foundation?

Have a beautiful day you beautiful ladies!

Back to MAC Australia: New Restrictions to Redemption Options

MAC Australia has had a fantastic longstanding recycling incentive program whereby you can return 6 empty (or unfinished!) MAC cosmetic containers to a MAC store or counter, and redeem for a free lipstick from their permanent line (Viva Glams excluded).

(The program runs internationally with different terms and conditions per country.)

I've just learnt (thanks Aysh / MsGoddessInTraining) that the Australian program has changed effective Nov 1, 2012 to restrict the lipstick for which you can redeem the empties. My MAC counter had the following list yesterday:

Angel
Blankety
Crème Cup
Crème d' nude
Girl About Town
Hug Me
Lady Danger
Morange
Myth
Pretty Please
Ravishing
Syrup
Snob
St Germain
Rebel
Ruby Woo
Russian Red
Shy Girl
Twig
Vegas Volt

I was so relieved to see that the list features some extremely popular shades and also that there was at least a couple on there that I don't already have that I've specifically had in mind for the empties collecting in my drawer- Ruby Woo, Vegas Volt and Ravishing. I don't have Morange or Lady Danger either so will have to see if they're worth adding to the collection when I'm next at MAC.

Many of my MAC empties are eyeshadow clams that I've depotted, and it's up to each individual store whether they'll accept the clam without the metal pan. My local store have said it's fine. Thank goodness!!

Not sure if they'll let me do more than one lipstick at a time, but heading back in for a class in a couple weeks so will see then.

Have you back to MAC'd? Which shade would you choose from the list?

Peace, joy & beauty,

Jodi x
